Graduate Programs Office Aide

Start Date

Peru State College Graduate Programs is seeking a part-time Student Office Aide who has qualified and accepted Federal Work-Study funds to work flexible hours 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. We are willing to work with any hours you can provide during those times but prefer someone who can work to cover lunch hours, with up to a maximum of 10 hours per week.

$9.00 per hour


  • Be a full time Peru State College student
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with various constituencies including fellow professionals and online students
  • Strong leadership, time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated awareness of an sensitivity to diverse student populations
  • Ability to comfortably work and communicate effectively with word processing and spreadsheet programs, email and internet


  • This position is the face of our office, greeting guests, answering phones and offering support to full-time office staff.
  • Communicate with students via phone, email, postal mail and CRM software.
  • Learn to navigate required screens in PeopleSoft as part of entering admissions paperwork, maintain confidential information.
  • Retrieve mail and distribute appropriate paperwork across campus.

Job Performance Evaluation:

  • A job performance evaluation will be completed at the end of each semester. It will evaluate job knowledge, quality of work, initiative and dependability.

  REGULATIONS ON WORK STUDY JOBS Students are not permitted to work in FWS positions during scheduled class times.  Exceptions are permitted if an individual class is cancelled, if the instructor has excused the student from attending for a particular day, and if the student is receiving credit for employment in an internship, externship, or community work study experience. Any such exemptions must be documented.
