Bookstore Student Worker

Start Date

The Peru State Bookstore seeks a student who will provide customer service to students as they pick up books at the Cat Cave that they have previously purchased online.

Starting date is August 22, 2022.

Anticipated weekly hours: Weekdays from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Additional hours are available the first two weeks of each semester.

Applications will be reviewed immediately and the position will be open until filled.



$10.00 per hour



  • Ability to learn the software and equipment used to check-in and check-out books that have been purchased. Training will be provided.
  • Must be customer service oriented. Ability to work with diverse population of students.
  • Must be dependable, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to conduct self in a professional manner, and ability to use computer systems effectively.



  • Manage the check-in and check-out process for books that have been purchased through the Peru State online bookstore.
  • Be dependable, responsible and able to work independently.
  • Use basic problem-solving skills to assist students.

Job Performance Evaluation:

  • A job performance evaluation will be completed at the end of each semester. It will evaluate job knowledge, quality of work, initiative and dependability.
