Writing Center Director - Part-time

Peru State College is seeking applicants for a part time Writing Center Director.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

 

Salary


$20.00 per hour. May work up to 24 hours per week. Clear background check is required.

 

Qualifications


  • Expertise and experience in teaching writing for at least five years.
  • M.A. preferred in English, Writing Studies, Rhetoric and Composition, or other humanities fields

 

Responsibilities


  • Maintain a presence in the Writing Center several days a week
  • Meet with students to develop their writing
  • Develop and foster relationships across campus in support of the Writing Center
  • Recruit, hire, train, and provide ongoing developmental opportunities for undergraduate and potentially graduate student tutors across the disciplines
  • Design and implement workshops and programs for students and faculty
  • Develop and implement assessment plans
  • Work effectively with a diverse student population, many of whom are first generation college students.

There are no benefits associated with this hourly position and the position will not be entitled to a specific term of employment. This position is temporary in nature and may be discontinued at any time at the discretion of the College without cause or advance notice.  This position is subject to veterans preference.
