Alumni and Community Awards
Peru State College honors alumni and friends for their work in their communities and their support of Peru State. There are a variety of awards available to recognize these contributions.
Distinguished Service Award
The Distinguished Service Award is conferred upon an outstanding person who, or organization
that, has made a significant contribution to Peru State College or to an alumnus who
has achieved distinction and recognition which reflects favorably upon the Nebraska
State College System.
Nominees are to be graduates of the college or they must be persons who are making
or who have made significant contributions or person who have been previously associated
with the college who have gained regional or national prominence. The award recognizes
the capstone of the individual’s contributions to their career or community.
Alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the College may nominate alumni for this award
using the below online registration form.
- This award is approved by the Nebraska State College System.
- Nominations must be submitted by October 1 each year.
- Once an individual has been nominated their nomination stays active for subsequent years.

Thousand Oaks Alumni Excellence Award
The Thousand Oaks Alumni Excellence Award was established in 2018 with the inaugural
awards awarded in 2019. These awards recognize outstanding alumni from the School
of Arts and Sciences, Graduate Programs, School of Professional Studies and School
of Education.
Recipients must have demonstrated exceptional service to the College or community
and/or demonstrated outstanding achievement in their career or their community.
Alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the College may nominate alumni for this award
using the below online registration form.
- Nominations are reviewed by the deans, alumni ex-officio members, Foundation staff and the President.
- Nominations must be submitted by October 1 each year.
- Once an individual has been nominated their nomination stays active for subsequent years.

The 2020 ceremony was not held due to COVID-19. There was no ceremony on 2021. The
2020 recipients were honored in conjunction with Peru State's Research and Creativity
Expo on Thursday, April 14, 2022. The awards ceremony was held in the Performing
Arts Center.
Athletic Hall of Fame
The purpose of the Peru State College's Athletic Hall of Fame is to foster an appreciation
of the past, an enjoyment of the present and an anticipation of future memories to
be made by the Bobcat's flourishing nine-sport athletic program. Nominations are
due by April 1 each year.
