Scott Walker is the Director of Bands at Peru State College. He is currently a Doctor
of Musical Arts Candidate at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where he served
as a graduate teaching assistant from 2020-2022. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree
from The University of Alabama and a Master of Music degree from Georgia Southern
University. He is the director of the Peru State College Concert and Pep Bands, applied
brass instructor, and instructor of other courses within our music curriculum. His
primary conducting teachers include Dr. Carolyn Barber (UNL), Dr. Robert Dunham (GSU),
and Mr. Randal Coleman (UA).
Mr. Walker is a native of Mobile, Alabama but has also lived and taught in South Georgia
and Upstate South Carolina. Before arriving in Nebraska, he was an active music instructor
throughout the Southeast and former Band Director for Marion County High School (AL).
Mr. Walker is also an alumnus of Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps.
