Liz joined the Peru State College staff in January, 2016 as Accompanist. In addition
to accompanying the three choral ensembles - Concert Chorale, Women’s Choir, and Prestige Show Choir - she also accompanies for the vocal and instrumental studios under Dr.
Jake Bartlett and Dr. Ken Meints, respectively.
Liz was born in Denver, Colorado, but was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. Classically
trained via the Suzuki method, she developed a love for musical theatre and collaborative
piano after playing for musicals and accompanying students in high school at Lincoln
Southeast. In May of 2014, Liz graduated magna cum laude from Doane College in Crete,
Nebraska with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Direction for Musical Theatre.
Since 2009, Liz has worked on over 50 productions as a music director, vocal coach,
and/or accompanist within the community and surrounding area; she has also worked
as a music director and teaching artist at Stagedoor Manor - a performing arts training
center for youth in New York - and in January, 2016 she participated in the highly-selective
Goodspeed Musicals Music Direction Intensive in Connecticut.
As a collaborative artist, Liz has worked with celebrated musical theatre industry
professionals at the International Thespian Festival, which is held annually at the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has also accompanied for vocal masterclasses at
the Lied Center for Performing Arts, for Irene Ryan scholarship competitors at the
Region V Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF), and is a regular
accompanist for the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) at the state
and regional level.
