Bio:
Dr Dunekacke began her career at Peru State College as an adjunct instructor in 1996 and became an Assistant professor of English in 2018.
As a fifth generation Nebraskan with a long family association with Peru State College, she is thrilled to be part of the Peru State community. When Dr. Dunekacke began teaching part-time at PSC, it was the perfect opportunity to exercise her skills and share her love of writing and literature while raising a family in rural Southeast Nebraska. Dr. Dunekacke’s daughters, Amanda and Amzie, are grown now, and she lives on an acreage outside of Elk Creek, Nebraska with her husband Joel and their dog, Scamp.
Dr. Dunekacke received a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, in 1986, a master’s degree in English Education from the University of Florida, in 1990, and a doctorate in Imaginative Literature from Harrison Middleton University, in 2017. She is currently writing a novel and working on an MFA in Creative Writing at Spalding University.
