Bio:

Danny graduated from Peru State College in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology. He earned a Master of Forensic Science degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2007. His emphasis for the Master’s degree was in the Behavioral Sciences.

Danny has 10 years of experience working in the corrections field with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. He has worked at both the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution and the Nebraska State Penitentiary. Throughout his corrections career he served in many different capacities including, Unit Caseworker, Unit Case Manager, Unit Manager, Unit Adminstrator, Emergency Preparedness Specialist, Public Information Officer and Litigation Officer.

Danny is a Certified Emergency Manager and served as a Crisis Negotiator for approximately 8 years with NDCS. He worked for Peru State College as an adjunct instructor for approximately 5 years prior to becoming a full-time Instructor. He has also served as an adjunct instructor for Nebraska Wesleyan University.

With his diverse experiences within the correctional system, with emergency response and Forensic Science, Danny is able assist students in better understanding the functions and practices used in the field today. Using real life examples and activities to engage students in the curriculum, the students will come away from the courses with a good base for working in the career of their choice.

Danny is a lifelong resident of Southeast Nebraska having lived in Brownville, NE from birth through High School. He currently lives in Tecumseh, NE with his wife (Nikki) and their 3 children (Annie, Lucy and Jack).
