Bio:
Ms. Gottschalk began her undergraduate work at St. Louis University as a psychology major. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Secondary Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1995, and in 1998 she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Master’s of Science degree in Human Services from Bellevue University. Carrie’s future education plans include earning her Ph.D. in sociology with an interdisciplinary specialization in policy and program analysis. Mrs. Gottschalk’s main research interests include social stratification, education & social psychology.
All of her work experience has been in education and human services, starting in 1993 when she worked as a supervisor for the youth work program at Boys Town. Carrie completed her student teaching at Boys Town, then continued her career there as a coach, behavior interventionist and coordinator of the New Youth Orientation program. From 1999-2001, Carrie and her husband were Family Teachers at Boys Town, where they lived full-time with eight adolescent boys and were the primary facilitators of the treatment team that oversaw the behavioral, educational, and emotional growth of these boys.
Carrie began teaching sociology for Peru in May of 2002 and absolutely loves it. Carrie stated, “I feel honored and privileged to be a part of the PSC system.”
