Third Annual Health & Wellness Fair set for Wednesday, April 23
Free and open to the public
(Peru, Neb.) Peru State College’s Wellness Coalition will host its third annual Health and Wellness Fair from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 in the Al Wheeler Activity Center.
The event is free and open to the public.
Informational and interactive booths will be available on topics like drug abuse, binge-drinking, mental health, eating disorders and more. There will be drawings for a variety of door prizes. A healthy evening meal will be available for attendees.
Student Coordinator Tesla Oldfield, a senior exercise science and sports management major from Nebraska City, said, “The annual health and wellness fair is an event that is designed to educate students and individuals in our community and surrounding areas about living a healthy lifestyle. It is an exciting event that will help raise awareness of all matters related to wellness and promote good health and smart decisions. We are excited to host this event again and hope to see you all there!”
Associate Professor of Education and Health and Wellness Coalition Director Dr. Ellie Kunkel said, “The Health and Wellness Fair will showcase information and activities compiled and developed by students in the HPER 428 Health and Society class. At the beginning of the semester, each student selected what he/she believed was an important issue regarding health and wellness. Each then researched their identified issue and collaborated with professionals from the school and community to advocate to others what they believe is an important aspect of overall health and wellness. We look forward to engaging our surrounding communities in their efforts on April 23.”
