Adapted into a 1982 film starring Christopher Reeve and Michael Caine, Deathtrap by Ira Levin holds the record for the longest running comedy/thriller on Broadway. Five characters, two acts, one set, and more plot twists than one can count, turn this play within a play into a raucous good time. Centered on Sydney Bruhl, a once successful playwright with writer’s block who plots to kill one of his students in order to steal a promising new play, Deathtrap studies just how far some people might go to protect their identity and reputation.
