Peru State Choirs to perform concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16
(Peru, Neb.) The Peru State College choirs will perform a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16 in the College Theatre. There is no admission charge and the public is encouraged to attend.
The Concert Choir and Madrigal Singers will perform under the direction of Music Professor and Director of Choral Activities Dr. Thomas Ediger. The program will conclude with a performance by the Misty Blues Show Choir, under the direction of Assistant Professor of Music Dr. Jacob Bartlett. David Norris of Peru, Neb., is pianist.
The Concert Choir will open the program with "O Sing Rejoice" by George F. Handel, "The Road Not Taken" by Randall Thompson and Les Miserables’ "One Day More" arranged by Mark Bryer.
The Madrigal Singers will continue the program with a variety of works, including "While the Bright Sun" by William Byrd, "Shoot False Love, I Care Not" by Thomas Morley and "The Silver Swan" by Orlando Gibbons.
Peru State’s Misty Blues Show Choir will conclude the program with performances of "Chattanooga Choo Choo" by Harry Warren, Oklahoma’s "Kansas City" by Rodgers and Hammerstein II, "In the Height" by Lin-Manuel Miranda and "Dancing in the Street" by Marvin Gaye.
