Annual Holiday Madrigal Dinner set for Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7 at Peru State
(Peru, Neb.) Tickets are on sale now for Peru State College’s Annual Holiday Madrigal Dinner Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7.
Attendees will enjoy a journey back in time to the 16th century during an evening of spirited music, intense drama, outrageous humor and delicious food. A complete dinner of roast pork, chicken, new roasted potatoes, vegetable medley, French onion soup, salad and a trio of desserts will be served.
Attendees will also be treated to an after-dinner concert by the Madrigal Singers, fun with a court jester, performances by the Peru State recorder ensemble and a presentation of the newly composed opera, Where or Same?. The opera tells the story of the Land of Where, where there are exciting activities, pirates, goons and moon hags who want to take over the Land of Same to bring calm and order to their lives. In Same they even have a “mood of the day.”
The event, which will be held in the Student Center, is open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The Royal Procession begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person. Checks and credit cards are accepted. For reservations, contact Professor of Music Dr. Thomas Ediger at 402-872-2253 402-872-2237or firstname.lastname@example.org.
