Boshart, Larsen crowned 2013 Peru State Homecoming King and Queen


(Peru, Neb.) Peru State seniors Mitch Boshart of Wood River and Ellen Larsen of Lincoln, were crowned Peru State College’s 2013 Homecoming king and queen last Saturday.

The duo was elected by members of the Peru State student body.

Boshart, a social science major, is a Board of Trustees scholar, member of the Peru State Honors Program and a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) scholar-athlete. He was awarded the NAIA’s A.O. Duer Award, which is presented annually to an outstanding student-athlete who maintains an overall grade-point average of at least a 3.75 (on a 4-point scale). Boshart was also awarded the Heart of America Athletic Conference’s 2013 Champion of Character Award.

Boshart is a co-captain of the Bobcat football team, Teammates mentor, Bobcat Football Elite team leader and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In addition to participating in many community service projects, Boshart also conducts radio interviews for KNCY Country’s Bobcat Buzz.

He is the son of Craig and Karla Boshart of Wood River.

Larsen, a K-12 special education major, is Student Senate president, a Department of Admission ambassador, resident assistant and Peru Day Care volunteer. She was a member of the Peru State golf team and Student Athletic Advisory Council.

Larsen is the daughter of Jim and Anne Larsen of Lincoln.
