Variety of student musical performances, concerts at Peru State this April

An Evening with the Madrigal Singers this Friday and Saturday

 

(Peru, Neb.) The month of April will feature a variety of student musical performances and concerts at Peru State, beginning with “An Evening with the Madrigal Singers” at 7 p.m. this Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13, in the Jindra Fine Arts Recital Hall.

The performance will feature traditional English and Italian madrigals before moving into a program of musical theatre featuring solos, duets, and large ensembles from musicals by Rodgers and Hammerstein. Special features of the program include music from The Sound of Music and Carousel.

Following is a list of events, all of which are free and open to the public.

Sunday, April 14
Senior Voice Recital by Jacob Buss, Music Education Major from Tecumseh, with Music Instructor Debra Wehrmann DeFrain on Piano
3 p.m. – Jindra Fine Arts Recital Hall

Tuesday, April 23
Misty Blues Show Choir and Hoyt Street Jazz Ensemble Concert
7:30 p.m. – College Theatre 
The program will feature a variety of popular, Broadway, rock and jazz musical selections.

Thursday, April 25
Hoyt Street Jazz on the Green
11:30 a.m. - Campus Quad

Sunday, April 28
Peru State Concert Choir and Concert Band
3 p.m. - College Theatre
