Peru State, City of Peru to partner for "Cleanup 2013" Friday, April 19


(Peru, Neb.) Peru State and the City of Peru will partner for “Cleanup 2013” from 9 a.m. until Noon on Friday, April 19.

Volunteers, who are encouraged to bring their own work gloves, will meet at City Hall at 9 a.m. Refreshments will be provided by area service organizations and businesses. 

President Dan Hanson said, “We are pleased to once again partner with the City of Peru for this annual event. Last year more than 120 students, faculty, staff and community members worked together to clean up the community and make a difference in the lives, health and well-being of our neighbors. We hope to have even more participants this year.”

Volunteers will pick up items from the following categories:

  • Bagged garbage
  • Metal/Scrap Iron
  • Furniture
  • Carpet
  • Appliances
  • Televisions
  • Computers, Circuit Boards, Modems, Monitors, Scanners, Servers and Keyboards
  • Fax Machines
  • CD/DVD Players and Drives
  • Lawn Mowers
  • Snow Blowers
  • Garden Tillers
  • Bicycles
  • Swing Sets
