NE Art Council Selects Peru State's Randy Waln for Governor's Residence Exhibition Program
Waln's work to be featured May 22–June 21, 2013
(Peru, Neb.) The Nebraska Arts Council recently announced that Peru State College (PSC) Art Professor Randy Waln has been selected to have his work featured in the Governor’s Residence Exhibition Program during the 2012/13 season.
Waln is one of 13 contemporary Nebraska artists selected via an open competition and review panel. His photography will be featured May 22-June 21, 2013.
Waln said, “I am very pleased to be able to show in this venue, and I feel the agricultural subject matter of my work is especially appropriate to Nebraska.”
Waln came to Peru State in 2002 after teaching 20 years at Montana State University-Northern. He teaches art and graphic design. His work is mostly focused on photography-based digital images.
The Nebraska Governor’s Residence is located at 1425 H Street in Lincoln. The residence is open for public tours on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. Visitors are invited to take part in a guided tour of the home featuring this exhibition series, historical information and memorabilia collected by Nebraska’s first families.
