Peru Theatre Company to present The Seafarer Nov. 17-20
(Peru, Neb.) The Peru Theatre Company will present four performances of The Seafarer Thursday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 20 in the newly renovated Jindra Fine Arts Building’s Black Box Theatre.
The Seafarer is a 2006 production by Irish playwright Conor McPherson. It is set on Christmas Eve in Baldoyle, a coastal suburb north of Dublin. The play centers on James “Sharkey” Harkin, an alcoholic who has recently returned to live with his blind, aging brother, Richard Harkin. As Sharkey attempts to stay off the bottle during the holidays, he contends with the hard-drinking, irascible Richard and his own haunted conscience.
The Seafarer has garnered international acclaim, receiving two Olivier Award Nominations in Europe, including Best Play, and four Tony Award Nominations in the United States, also including Best Play.

- Thursday, Nov. 17 at7:30 p.m.
- Friday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m.
Doors open 30 minutes prior to show time. PSC students and employees are admitted free with their ID. General admission is $10. Admission for senior citizens and children age 12 and under is $5. Please note that this production contains adult language and may not be appropriate for young audiences. Parental discretion is advised.
