Peru State Choirs to Present Fall Concert This Sunday, Nov. 14
(Peru, Neb.) Peru State College’s (PSC) Misty Blues Show Choir, Madrigal Singers and Concert Choir will present a fall concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, in the College Theatre, located at the south end of the Hoyt Science Building. The event is free and open to the public.
The event will showcase music from various composers and genres. The Concert Choir will open the festivities with performances of O Sing, Rejoice by Handel, Der Tanz by Schubert, Te Deum by Mozart and Russian Picnic by Harvey Enders.
The Madrigal Singers will then perform several traditional madrigals, including Dainty, Fine, Sweet Nymphs by Thomas Morley, The Silver Swan by Orlando Gibbons and Love Now Invites Us by Giovanni Gastoldi.
The Concert Choir and Madrigal Singers are directed by PSC Music Professor and Director of Choral Activities Dr. Thomas Ediger. Denis Plutalov serves as pianist for the Concert Choir.
The Misty Blues Show Choir will conclude the program with a variety of popular selections, including The House is Rockin’ by Doyle Bramhall and Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Joint is Jumpin' by "Fats" Waller and Burning Love by Elvis Presley. The group is directed by Charlotte Shields, PSC adjunct voice professor.
