21st Annual Peru State College Piano Extravaganza Concert Set for Saturday, April 10
(Peru, Neb.) Around 200 piano students from across Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri will convene at Peru State College (PSC), Saturday, April 10 to play in the college’s 21st Annual Piano Extravaganza.
The event, which begins in the morning with rehearsals throughout the day, culminates with a “piano orchestra” concert at 7 p.m. CST in the College Theatre, located at the south end of Hoyt Science Hall. The concert will feature eight different groups of pianists performing music of varying degrees of difficulty. The grand finale will include 30 pianists performing duets together on 15 pianos on one stage under the direction of PSC Music Professor Dr. Thomas Ediger.
The Piano Extravaganza rehearsals and concert are open to the public. Admission to the evening concert is $7 for adults and $2 for students. Tickets are available at the door, which opens at 6:05 p.m. There is no admission charge to attend rehearsals, which begin at 10:30 a.m.
The event is sponsored by the PSC Music Department and the student Music Educators National Conference chapter. It is made possible through the support of Dietze Music House of Lincoln and Omaha and the Yamaha Corporation of America, which provide the pianos.
