Peru State Choirs to Perform Free Concert Sunday, Feb. 22
( Peru, Neb.) The Peru State College (PSC) Concert Choir, Madrigal Singers and Misty Blues Show Choir will perform a concert at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22 in the College Theatre. The event is free and open to the public.
The Concert Choir will present several varied musical selections including Hallelujah from the Mount of Olives by Beethoven, The Awakening by Joseph Martin and Ching-a-Ring-Chaw by Aaron Copland. The program will continue with the Madrigal Singers’ program which includes In These Delightful Pleasant Groves by Henry Purcell and Hark All Ye Lovely Saints by Thomas Weelkes.
The Misty Blues Show Choir will conclude the program with a varied program of popular and Broadway musical selections including Louder than Words from Tick Tick Boom, It Had Better Be Tonight by Henry Mancini and Rubberneckin,’ recorded by Elvis Presley.
The choirs are led by PSC Music Professor and Director of Choral Activities Dr. Thomas Ediger. Denis Plutalov, doctoral piano student from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, is the pianist.
