Waln’s Digital Prints Selected for Omaha Exhibition by the Nebraska Arts Council
(Peru, Neb.) Peru State College (PSC) Art Professor Randy Waln has been selected for exhibit in the Fred Simon Gallery in Omaha by the Nebraska Arts Council. Waln’s show will run from April 12 through May 21, 2010.
PSC President Stan Carpenter said, “Not only are the art faculty at Peru State College top-notch educators, they are also talented artists. Professor Waln’s selection for this exhibition is another example of how our students learn their trades from accomplished professionals.”
Waln’s background includes digital design, printmaking, graphic design and animation, among other subjects. Waln led the PSC student team in the Google “Create Your Campus in 3D” Competition in 2007 and is active in college committees and service work. Recent exhibitions of his work have been seen at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Arlington, Va.; “Current Work 2007, A National Competition,” in Fayetteville, N.C.; and Gallery 72 in Omaha, among others.
The Fred Simon Gallery is located at the Nebraska Arts Council offices at 1004 Farnam St., Lower Level, in Omaha. The gallery is open Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Opening receptions are scheduled for each artist and are free and open to the public.
