Retired Army General Walter Zink to Speak at Peru State Thursday
(Peru, Neb.) Retired U.S. Army Major General Walter Zink will deliver motivational remarks to students at Peru State College at 11:00 a.m. this Thursday, Nov. 6 in the Live Oak Room of the Student Center. The event, which is sponsored by Student Success Services, is free and open to the public.
General Zink’s remarks will focus on ordinary people doing extraordinary things. He will draw on the experiences he encountered throughout his professional and military career.
Among his varied experiences in the military, General Zink has served as assistant adjutant general of Nebraska and has commanded and coordinated the employment of air, ground and naval forces in the conduct of Homeland Defense and Civil Support Operations. He currently works as a lawyer in Lincoln.
Student Success Services Director Kelly Bequette said “We feel fortunate to welcome someone of General Zink’s distinction to campus. Through his presentation, Student Success Services hopes to encourage and motivate students, as well as others in southeast Nebraska, to contribute to society in their individual educational, professional and civic pursuits.”
