(Peru, Neb.) Three Peru State College (PSC) choirs will present a fall concert at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, in the College Theatre, located at the south end of the Hoyt Science Building. The event is free and open to the public.

Featured on the program will be performances by the PSC Concert Choir, Madrigal Singers and Misty Blues Show Choir, all of which are under the direction of Dr. Thomas Ediger, professor of music and director of choral activities. Denis Plutalov, a University of Nebraska - Lincoln doctoral student from Tambov, Russia, will serve as pianist for the Concert Choir and the Misty Blues Show Choir.

The concert choir will open the event by performing selections from different historical periods, including Sing Unto God by Handel from the oratorios Judas Maccabeus, Gloria in Excelsis by Mozart, Ziguerneleben (A Gypsy’s Life) by Robert Schumann and The Last Words of David by Randall Thompson.

The Madrigal Singers will then perform pieces such as O occhi manza mia (O Eyes of My Beloved) by Orlando Dilasso; I Behold Your Beauty by Giovanni Gastoldi; Il est bel et Bon, a French chanson by Pierre Passereau; and a traditional round from the 13th century Summer Is a Coming In.

The Misty Blues Show Choir will conclude the program with a mix of popular and Broadway musical selections, including September, performed by Earth, Wind and Fire; Handful of Keys by “Fats” Waller from Ain’t Misbehavin; We Belong recorded by Pat Benetar; and Rubberneckin’, a song recorded by Elvis Presley.
