Peru State Alumni Magazine Earns National Awards
(Peru, Neb.) Peru State College’s (PSC) Alumni Association magazine the Bobcat Banner has earned two national Awards of Publishing Excellence (APEX) from Communications Concepts, Inc., for writing and design.
The Banner earned a writing award for the article “To Catch a Thief,” a profile on PSC Business Professor Dr. Jim Thomas and his work in loss prevention. The article was written by Assistant Foundation Director Constance Walter (’08, MSOM) and appeared in the spring 2007 issue of the Banner. Krystal Nolte (’04, business management and marketing) also received an award for excellence in design for the summer 2007 issue of the magazine.
This marks the second consecutive year that the Bobcat Banner has been recognized by the national marketing and public relations consulting organization. It won awards last year for Most Improved Magazine as well as a writing award for an article in the fall 2006 edition titled “A Tale of Two Journeys,” which was also written by Walter.
