Three Peru State Students Selected for Nebraska Intercollegiate Honor Band
(Peru, Neb.) Three Peru State College (PSC) students have been selected to participate in the Nebraska Intercollegiate Honor Band, which features students from both private and public colleges and universities across Nebraska.
Those selected include Kari Stallbaumer, a senior from Wetmore, Kan.; Sarah Smith, a senior from David City; and Megan Katz, a sophomore from Jansen. All are music education majors.
PSC Band Director Dr. Patrick Fortney said, “This is the first time that PSC has had students in the honor band in many years. It will be a great opportunity for our students to interact with students from other campuses and regions of the state.”
Following two days of rehearsals, the Honor Band will present a concert at 8 p.m. this Friday, Feb. 29 in the Kimball Recital Hall at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
The clinician for the event is Dennis Glocke, director of concert bands at Pennsylvania State University.
The Nebraska Intercollegiate Honor Band is held in conjunction with the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association Convention. Information on the convention can be found online at http://nsbma.org/NSBAnew.
