The ideal candidate will have a terminal degree in a related area, and online and classroom teaching experience. Candidates with a graduate degree and significant teaching and/or professional experience may be considered for an instructor level position. An interest in pursuing a terminal degree, which is required for tenure, is preferred. Background in health care settings, health professional education, or environmental sciences preferred. Experience with Open Educational Resources (OER), applying technology to enhance the learning experience, and advising pre-professional program students preferred.
Teach a 12 hour load per semester of online and onsite undergraduate courses, advise and mentor students, provide service to the College, active participation in campus life on main campus in Peru, NE, and implement an active professional development/academic discipline contribution plan. Faculty members are expected to demonstrate commitments to continuous improvement of instructional practices and student engagement in and outside the traditional learning space. The incumbent will teach courses in some combination of human anatomy, human physiology, genetics, microbiology and/or animal/environmental science courses and/or general studies/honors program courses based on expertise and interest. He/she will maintain laboratory facilities and supervise student research.
