Security Officer II (.75 FTE)

Starting salary $1,578.00 per month.  Excellent benefits package.


Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by one year of security experience or any combination of skills, knowledge and abilities that meet these requirements. Clear background check required. Valid driver’s license is required. Knowledge of campus layout and building locations, security systems and routine security practices preferred. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with students, staff and the general public is required. Ability to summarize information accurately and concisely, to provide accurate directions, information and assistance, and to investigate security breaches, monitor vandalism and request appropriate intervention when needed is also required. 12 hour rotating shift work is required, including weekends.


Responsible for the protection and safety of students, personnel and campus property. Will secure campus buildings and facilities; patrol campus buildings and grounds, may be required to walk long distances. Conducts fire and safety checks. Work also includes monitoring security and lighting equipment to ensure continued operation; preparing required security reports, identify and report vandalism, suspect activity or missing items, writing campus traffic/parking citations and other duties as assigned.
