College degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by general administrative or business coursework and one to two years of administrative/clerical experience required. Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills as well as excellent keyboarding and strong computer skills are required. Applicant must possess effective verbal and written communication skills, customer service philosophy, and willingness to making quality improvement in the work operations and environment. The applicant should possess the ability to prioritize assigned tasks/workload, multitask and be detail oriented.
Responsible for administrative support in the Admissions area, and will work closely with several constituents such as students, faculty, Admissions staff, and other administrative office personnel across campus. The incumbent will be responsible for day to day functions of the office including but not limited to, standard office functions such as answering phone calls, responding to e-mails, scheduling meetings, monitoring tasks of work study students, and planning coverage of office during operational hours; will maintain confidential student files/student information; provide strong administrative/clerical support for Admissions Director; review and update the content of the websites associated with Admissions; process all payment requests, reimbursements, and budget tracking for Admissions area. This person serves as a first point of contact to many inquiries to Peru State, and as such a strong “can do” and customer service philosophy is required, as well as other duties as assigned.
