Graduation from high school supplemented by coursework in Library Science or related area and two years of work experience in a library or any combination of skills, knowledge and abilities that meet these requirements. Associates degree in Library Science or a Library Specialists endorsement and three years work experience in a library preferred. Requires meticulous and continuous attention to detail, ability to work independently, and to make initial decisions with a minimum of supervision. Knowledge of practices and techniques used in cataloging and processing new library materials is preferred.
Duties include, but are not limited to assisting patrons in use of resources and technology, database and webpage maintenance, book processing, processing interlibrary loans, shelving and cataloging, cataloging and processing new library materials, and other duties as assigned. Leadership may be provided for student library workers. Hours will be Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, with summer hours of Mon-Fri 7:30am-4pm. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
