Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance or related field. Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and minor repair of tractors, cultivators, edgers, and power lawn mowers and accuracy in developing and maintaining an efficient and workable landscaping program also required. Current Nebraska Applicator license and extensive tree experience strongly preferred.
Duties include, but are not limited to, providing supervision, planning, and assigning work for all assigned outside areas of the campus. Under the direction and leadership of the Campus Services Director, the Grounds Supervisor will plan, schedule, assign, and supervise the landscaping, mowing, trimming, seeding, weeding, cultivating, clean-up and general care of the grounds. Will also plan and supervise cultivation, pruning, spraying, and planting of a large variety of shrubs and trees. Will prepare working sketches for the development, improvement, or expansion of landscaped areas, prepare requisitions, and distribute materials and equipment for grounds maintenance work. Will plan and supervise snow and ice control. This is a working supervisor position. The Grounds Supervisor will perform grounds maintenance duties in addition to providing supervision.
