Certification Officer

Salary: $39,780. Excellent benefits.

Master’s degree required. Prior experience with state teacher certification processes preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple responsibilities, make effective decisions, as well as maintain and build effective relationships with a wide variety of internal and external constituents. Must be able to communicate complex information effectively verbally and in writing, and make formal (including instructional) presentations, travel locally and nationally at times. Well-developed computer skills (including Microsoft Office) required. Must have valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. Successful background records check also required.


The Certification Officer administers and oversees all certification and recertification processes and procedures for teacher education candidates, including the preparation and submission of related documentation to the Nebraska Department of Education. This includes serving as an academic advisor for teachers who are adding endorsements or completing certificate renewal coursework. This is a professional appointment with a 12 month contract.
