Here is our Cohort 2018 Program of Study.

Registration will be completed each semester by our Graduate Programs Office.

The Cohort format for the Master of Science in Education (MSED) degree begins each summer in June.  Students complete the 36-credit graduate program in 19 months as a member of a cadre of teachers who progress through the program as a cohort.

The cohort format combines 8-week and 4-week courses that are sequenced with a full-time teacher’s schedule in mind.  Complete the program as part of a collaborative and supportive community of learners who are all working toward the same goal!

This program spans five (5) academic terms/semesters.  Each summer course is eight (8) weeks in length; each fall and spring course is four (4) weeks in length, beginning on a Saturday and ending on a Friday.  Exception:  Educ 623 – Assessment of Instruction is the capstone course and will be eight (8) weeks in length.

All courses are completed within the online delivery format and, for the most part, run back-to-back.  There will be brief breaks in the program in August, December, and April/May when workload issues for teachers are at their greatest.

*A maximum of 6 credit hours of transfer graduate coursework from an accredited institution, or PSC graduate courses that have already been completed, can be used to replace Educ 552 and/or Educ 569.  All other courses within the cohort sequence must be taken to complete the program.  To replace one or both courses, a transfer course request must be submitted prior to beginning the cohort program.  PSC graduate in-service courses, identified with the INS course code, are exempt.

Optional Certificates of Advanced Studies

Enrolling on our Cohort format students will complete two (2) of these the three (3) courses below.  If at the end of a student’s program they would like to enroll in one (1) additional course, EDUC 556 or EDUC 530, the student will receive a Certificate of Advanced Studies in the appropriate area.
