Bio:
Ms. Patricia Rippe is Director of Field Experiences and Certification Officer for the School of Education at Peru State College. Her primary responsibilities include placing and monitoring practicum students and student teachers helping new and veteran teachers gain certification. Ms. Rippe also represents Peru State College on the ESU #4 early childhood planning team and is alternate on the Nebraska Council for Teacher Education.
A native of Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska, Ms. Rippe earned her bachelors degree in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She earned a teaching endorsement in Visual Impairments while teaching 11 years in Nebraska City at the state residential school for students who are blind or visually impaired. Ms. Rippe earned her Masters of Science in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She taught upper elementary language arts, first grade, elementary special education, computer awareness and keyboarding, and Title 1 Reading for 14 years at Johnson-Brock prior to employment at the postsecondary level. While at Peru State, Ms. Rippe has taken graduate courses at UN-L in college teaching and language development and taught courses in special and elementary education.
Ms. Rippe resides in Johnson, Nebraska with her husband, Doyle. Her daughter, Kate, lives in Omaha with her husband, Mike, and their children, McKenzie and Evan. Kate teaches business at Douglas County West. Another daughter, Kim, lives in Lincoln with her husband, Matt, and teaches kindergarten at Evelyn Hamlow Elementary in Waverly. Kim and Matt are expecting their first child in May.
