Bio:

Dr. Ellie Kunkel is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education - Physical Education and Health, and a Master of Science in Physical Education. She went on to receive an Education Specialist Degree from Middle Tennessee State University, and completed her Doctor of Education degree at Tennessee State University.

 

Dr. Kunkel has thirteen years of experience teaching health and physical education in Missouri. She taught physical education at the secondary level for thirteen years and elementary school health and physical education for three years. During this time she was also a head coach in both basketball and volleyball. Dr. Kunkel moved from the high school ranks to the college ranks where she was a graduate assistant coach in volleyball at University of Central Missouri for one year and served as an assistant coach in the same sport at Middle Tennessee State University for two years. She then logged four years as the NCAA compliance officer at Middle Tennessee State University and served as an adjunct instructor in Wellness and Educational Psychology. Additional administrator experience included serving as interim athletic director at PSC and as adult/community education coordinator at Waynesville Technical Academy, Waynesville, Missouri.

 

Dr. Kunkel is currently in her eleventh year as associate professor in the School of Education at Peru State College in Nebraska.
