Associated Costs of a Teacher Education Program
Provisional enrollment in restricted courses form and instructions This form is for students who have not been admitted to Teacher Education in order to apply for provisional enrollment in restricted courses. This step should only be taken when a student has no other alternative for moving forward in their education program.
Interview form You will be instructed on completing the interviews during your education 208 course. Note: Do not print this sample copy for use. Please pick up a green, two-sided print copy of this form in the Education office, TJM 207 or from the Annex location.

PPST Preparation Assistance - Free online Accuplacer Diagnostic testing is available for PSC teacher education students who are preparing for the PRAXIS I (PPST) and wish to zero in on specific skill areas for improvement. Separate tests can be taken for Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, Arithmetic, and Elementary Algebra. Each test assesses five different skill sets and provides a report identifying level of competency in each. What to expect when visiting Prometric® Test Centers
Princeton, N.J. (March 31, 2010) – Educational Testing Service today released a new video, “Welcome to Your Computerized Praxis™ Testing Experience,” which provides test takers with a preview of what to expect when visiting a Prometric® Testing Center to take Praxis I ®: Pre-Professional Skills Tests.
The seven-minute virtual tour reviews identification requirements, the registration process, security procedures, score reporting and the check-out process. Moreover, test takers can see how the exam administration actually begins, including initial prompts, background questions and a tutorial with instructions and question types.
“We understand that test takers may have questions prior to their test administration and that this uncertainty can lead to some anxiety,” says Linda Tyler, ETS Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Teacher Licensure and Certification. “ETS is striving to support teacher candidates. This video is another step we’ve taken to help create a stress-free testing experience.”
Candidates can choose to take Praxis I Reading, Mathematics and Writing assessments as single tests or as a combined test available in a single testing session with an optional 15-minute break.

Background Check Information - As part of your admission to Teacher Education, you are required to request a background check from One Source. You will be notified by the School of Education as to when you need to submit the background check. Do not complete it until you have been notified as they are only acceptable within a 60 day period.
In order to request the background check, you will receive an email in your acornmail account with notification, instructions and a link.This process will require you to provide information about yourself that will be used to complete the background check. Once you provide the required information and identify your choice of payment, you will read and agree to the terms of the process, as identified by One Source.
The cost to you will be $25. Once the background check is completed, you will be evaluated based on the criteria identified by the Nebraska Department of Education in Rule 20, which is verified as part of certification. In addition to requesting the background check online, you must also print and complete the Nebraska Child Abuse form. A link will be provided that will allow you to print this form.
The background check will be completed by One Source and reported to the School of Education. Should an issue arise as a result of the background check, the School of Education will contact you to discuss next steps.
