I am the Math and Science Skills Specialist for Student Success Services, in which I provide encouragement and assistance to students pursuing studies in any STEM programs. I also serve as the SSS Academic Service Coordinator. In this capacity I coordinate individual peer-tutoring for SSS participants, supervise the Supplemental Instruction program, and provide professional tutoring in developmental math, scientific method, reading comprehension, writing skills, and successful study skills. In addition, I provide academic guidance to the SSS participants, including graduate school advice, information, and some visits.
I have a BA in Philosophy from St. John’s College (the Great Books School) and a MA in Cultural Anthropology from UNL. I have been an adjunct instructor at PSC for Anthropology and Sociology. I am Puerto Rican–American and speak fluent Spanish. I am originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico but have lived in Nebraska since 1998. My husband is a Biology professor at PSC and we have one daughter. I enjoy traveling, cooking, quilting, and tea. |
