Turnovers cost Bobcats second loss

Peru, NE – The Peru State College Men’s Basketball team dropped it’s second game in two days as they fell to the Vikings of Valley City State today 72-58. The Bobcats fell behind early as they got into foul trouble with eight minutes remaining in the first half. The Vikings took control and held a 39-26 lead going into the break. In the second half, the Bobcats showed a little more fight as they were out scored 33-32 in the second period.


The Bobcats struggled with the Viking defense as they turned the ball over 19 times. The Vikings out rebounded Peru 38-30 and came up with 14 steals in the game. Peru shot just 41% from the floor on 22 of 53, 28% from the arc on four of 14, and 83% from the line on 10 of 12.


Leading the Bobcats in scoring was Julius Durant with 12 points and six rebounds. Erik Kohl had 10 points and three rebounds in the effort. Kenny Braziel added nine points while Jerry Vaughn-Taylor added eight. The Bobcats move to 0-2 on the season and will travel to Hastings, NE on Tuesday, November 4th to take on the Broncos of Hastings College.
