Lady Bobcats have three in double figure in win over Haskell

Peru's Bender records another double-double in the win.

Lawrence, KS – The Peru State Women’s Basketball team looked to avenge a three point loss earlier this season to Haskell Indian Nations on Friday night in MCAC action.


The Cats came ready to battle as both teams sprinted up and down the court the first has to see a 36-36 tie after the first. In the second half, Peru had multiple three point plays that contributed to a 38-31 scoring margin and secured the 74-67 victory for the Cats. In the game, Peru shot 42% on 29 of 68 shooting, 55% from the arc on five of nine, and 68% from the line on 11 of 16. The Bobcats held a big rebounding margin that was 43-28 while both teams committed 17 turnovers in the contest.


Peru finished with three players in double figures as Nyahok Duop led the way with 17 points; Alicia Bender added a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards while Keiyana Arnold finished with 14 points.
