Peru State Men’s Basketball picks up first victory

Peru, NE – The Peru State College Men’s Basketball team finally hit the win column this season as they defeated Nebraska Christian College Tuesday night 82-63.


The Bobcats shot 49% from the floor on 32 of 65 shooting, 36% from the arc on just nine of 25, and 75% from the line on nine of 12. For the game Peru out rebounded NCC 38-33 and forced 24 turnovers. The Bobcats had all five starters in double figures as they were led by the duo of Tim Ondrak and Mario Fuentes. Ondrak finished the game with 18 points and 14 rebounds while Fuentes added 14 points and 10 rebounds. The sharp shooting combo of Kyle Knoche and Brian Simpson each finished with 17 points while Steven Burks added 16 points. Knoche added six assists in the game to go along with four rebounds and two crucial charges. Simpson added five steals and two assists.


The Bobcats return to action on December 13th as they travel to Madison, SD, to take on Dakota State University.
