Peru State Men’s Basketball inks first recruit of 2009 class

Bobcat BasketballPeru, NE – The Peru State College Men’s Basketball team and Head Coach Troy Katen announced that Jacob Schaben has signed a letter of intent to play for the Bobcats in 2009-2010.


Schaben is the first signing for the Bobcats 2009 recruiting class. The 6’6” 190 lb forward is the son of Bryce and Carrie Schaben who are alums of Peru State. The Harlan Community High School standout was a second-team All-Conference selection this season and will play in the Non-Parrell All-Star Game at Iowa Western Community College. During his time at Harlan, Schaben help lead his team to the Iowa State Tournament as well as being named District-8 All-Academic. He plans on majoring in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences while at Peru State.
