Murray starts his fifth season as Head Coach
for Women’s Cross Country. Murray understands being competitive.
As captain of both the track and cross country teams at Rowan,
Murray held the school record in the outdoor mile, indoor
mile, indoor 1000, and also set the cross country course record.
“The season’s short, but the training is year-round,” he said.
“It literally takes years to build a great cross country runner.
The 2007/08 cross country team was honored with the title of NAIA
Scholar Team and ranked 5th in the nation. The team's
combined GPA was 3.75. The 2008/09 squad finished atop the Bobcat Athletic Department with a team GPA of 3.69 as the Bobcat Cross Country team was once again named NAIA Scholar Team.
Murray previously taught dance and physical education at
Metro State College of Denver in Denver, CO. He also taught
physical education at the University of Northern Colorado
in Greeley, CO.
Murray received his Doctor of Education degree in Educational
Leadership and Change from Fielding Graduate University in
Santa Barbara, CA, a Master of Arts degree in Dance from Brigham
Young University in Provo, UT, and a Master of Arts degree
in Great Books from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, NM. He
earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from
Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ.
