Peru State Baseball team drops game to Dakota Wesleyan

The Bobcats fell behind 8-0 to the Tigers after DWU drove in one run in the first and seven runs in the third inning. Peru reached the board in the fourth as they scored one run. DWU added to their total in the bottom of the fifth with two runs while the Bobcats rallied in the seventh to score seven runs. Peru's rally fell shot as DWU took the non-conference victory.

Peru's eight runs came on eight hits with two errors in the game. DWU's 10 runs came off 12 hits. Vincent Eberhard took the loss for the Bobcats after throwing two and two-thirds innings. Eberhard faced 15 batters giving up six runs and striking out three.

At the plate, Peru was led by Garry Hall with a two for four performance with two runs scored and two RBI's. Mark Houck, Brandon Jalaas, and Matt Martin each recorded a double in the game. Martin and Jalaas each finished with two RBI's as Houk had one.

The Bobcats return to action on Saturday as they face Dakota Wesleyan again in a seven inning game and Bethany College of Kansas in a nine inning game.
