Peru, NE—Peru State College Head Baseball Coach, Jason Cronin, has announced the signing of McCook Community College (NJCAA D-I) sophomore and Lincoln Southwest product Patrick Knabe. As a freshman in the spring of 2008, the 6’2” 190 pound Knabe hit .311 (with wood), had 8 doubles, 2 triples and 3 homeruns. Knabe set the single season record with 55 total hits for Coach Jon Olsen’s squad. For his efforts, Knabe was named second team All-Region IX last spring. According to Coach Cronin, “Pat has the chance to make an immediate impact in our outfield. He has proven that he has the ability to be a consistent collegiate hitter and what we are most excited about is the fact that he wants to be part of our baseball family. I would like to thank Coach Davis and Coach Varley who both played a big part in getting this young man signed.” Pat is the son of Kent and Mary Knabe of Lincoln, Nebraska.
