Bobcats and Mustangs finish double header with split

(March, 14th) Peru, NE - The Bobcats faced a tough Morningside Squad that won the GPAC last year, and is picked to do so again in 2009. The Morningside hitters were hot and hit throughout the entire game.Vincent Eberhard didn’t have his good stuff and took the tough loss. Shawn Staszczyk came in and threw five plus quality innings and striking out six in relief. Offensively the Bobcats got homeruns from Mark Houck, Brandon Jalass, and Ryan Baroudi, but that was about all the team could muster. Baroudi finished 2-4 with two RBI’s.

 

The Bobcats bounced back well in game two with a 6-3 victory, moving them to 11-7 on the season. Peru has now won eight out of their last nine games. Jon Sanley got the victory throwing five plus solid innings and only allowing three hits for his second straight win. Tim Crawford finished up and recorded the save. Offensively Peru State scattered seven hits up and down their lineup. Mark Houck was 1-2 with two RBI, and Branson Jalass was 1-3 with an RBI triple.
