Bio:
Ms. Nies received her Bachelor's Degree in Writing from Millikin University in Decatur, Ill., and her Master of Science Degree in Journalism from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree. Before moving to Peru, she was a reporter for a daily newspaper in Jacksonville, Ill. In addition to her teaching duties, Ms. Nies is the faculty advisor for The Peru State Times, the college's student newspaper, and the faculty advisor for PSC's Black Student Union. She also assists the Bobcat football team with academics. She lives on a farm just outside of Peru and raises cattle.
