Description: A Top Cat is an individual who is a current student at Peru State College who is interested in being a part of New Student Weekend.  The primary duties include being the leader of a group of approximately 20 freshmen during New Student Weekend, assisting with New Student Weekend events and maintaining contact with your freshman group during the first semester. Applicants must be available the entire weekend before classes start in August.


Duties: Top Cats will be assigned one group of approximately 20 freshman students in which they will be responsible for during New Student Weekend. NSW is a very busy and we are looking for people who are willing to work hard all weekend. They will make sure all of the members of their group are accounted for at all events. Assistance with New Student Weekend activities will also be necessary. Top Cats are also required to follow the behavioral expectations set by the Admissions Office at the training session.  Professional behavior is mandatory. 


Advantages: The Top Cat role is a unique position at Peru State. Top Cats will be around freshmen during their most influential time at PSC. You will have the opportunity to befriend them as well as become their role model and mentor. Top Cats will also get a chance to meet new people, continue interpersonal communication skills as well as serve as a representative for Peru State College.


Requirements: Top Cats must be current students who have completed at least one semester at PSC.  Top Cat applicants must have and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher as well as certify that they have not been on academic probation. It is preferred that applicants are in good standing with Residence Life. Applicants should be friendly, outgoing and posses strong leadership and communication skills.
